USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships New York Sport reviews
Social Distortion Delivers Another Great Show
I have seen the USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships twice at the Showbox SODO and both at the Showbox Downtown (once under the venue's former name). They played a good mix of the newer stuff as well as older material, changing things just a bit from the records in some cases to make the live experience unique and interesting. On stage, a different drummer and bass player were a few newer faces in the line-up. They played well, but there was one point in Ball and Chain when the drummer kept on playing when the recorded version of the song would have had him not play. Either way, they sounded good. Not sure if that was a change up for the live show or not.
The crowd was, for the most part, cool and having a good time like you would expect at a USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships show. The only downer was that it was a hot day in Seattle - close to 90 - and the venue is basically a warehouse which turned into an oven between the sun heating it all day and all of the people inside. There was no AC or even fans to move the air around so it got a little stuffy in there.
